It all started on a Friday night in 2013 with three friends and a bottle of tequila. In the attempt to sing our favorite pop songs from the 80s and 90s, the idea was born to gather enthusiastic friends and passionate pop fans to start a choir in celebration of those songs: Project Kiezchor!
Today we are a group of 25 -30 singers from all over the world. Even though we are mostly doing it for the hell of it, we also want to share the fun and passion we feel for our singing with our audience.
Our songs are our own arrangements; we try to make them fit our ideas. One important factor is flexibility: because of that, we mostly sing a cappella to not depend on speakers or heavy instruments like the piano. We do like to spice up our groove with a bit of funky guitar or cajón rhythms sometimes.
